Extra-curricular activities are an integral part of learning. These activities help the children in developing their skills and personality beyond academics. The school encourages every student to take part in various activities like music, dance, arts, painting, handicrafts, agriculture, yoga, martial arts, mallakamba and veeragase.<\/p>\n\n

The school has various indoor and outdoor sports facilities. The students are trained in volleyball, throwball, Kho-Kho, cricket, and other games by our Physical Education staff. They are encouraged to take part in inter-school competitions, Pratibha Karanji competitions, and Annual Suttur Jathra Mahotsav competitions. Some of the students have also taken part in the state and national-level sports meets, quizzes and music competitions and have brought laurels to the institution.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n

Sports and games play a vital part in the physical and psychological growth of children. JSS School, Suttur provides several sporting opportunities and train the children in their fields of interest. The school has both indoor and outdoor sporting materials. A vast playground and a well- equipment indoor sports room for various sports like Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Badminton, Throw Ball, Football, Hockey, Hand Ball, Cricket, Chess, Carroms, Shuttle, Table Tennis, Athletics, and Yoga are in the school premises. Many students have participated in state-level competitions and have won accolades. One of our alumni, Ms. Rajeshwari Gayakwad, plays for the Indian Women’s Cricket Team.<\/p>\n

Apart from these sports, we also train our children in a traditional sport called “Mallakhamba”, in which a gymnast or group of gymnasts perform yoga postures on a wooden pole or Khamba.<\/p>\t\t\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n

\n\t\tBesides cultural and co-curricular activities, the school trains the students in a traditional art form called \u201cVeeragase\u201d. It is a conventional dance form popular in Karnataka which is performed based on the stories of Hindu mythology. \n\t\tThe school encourages children to join National Cadet Corps, an Indian military cadet corps which are open to high school and college students.
