\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tEstablished under the aegis of Jagadguru Sri Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthana Math, Suttur (Sri Suttur Math), JSS High School, Suttur, is a day boarding-cum-residential school, a unique project of Sri Math. The 24th Pontiff of Sri Suttur Math, His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, established this free residential school in 1962-63, intending to provide free education to children from rural families and thereby empowering the underprivileged. \n\nIn the year 2001-02, a residential school was started to help children from economically backward classes. The school was inaugurated by the then President of India, His Excellency Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. The school is a co-education school with Kannada and English as the medium of instruction. Education is provided from Nursery to 10th Standard following the Karnataka State Board Syllabus. The school has a competent and dedicated team of faculty members.\n\nThe school, which commenced with a strength of 1000 students, now houses more than 4000 students. About 1500 girl students are studying here. Students studying here hail from various poverty-stricken parts of the country. Many are from Karnataka, Manipur, Meghalaya, Jharkhand, and Tripura. The school provides these children with food, accommodation, textbooks, uniform, and medical care free of cost. The school is spread over a picturesque campus and has a conducive atmosphere for learning. The school provides excellent facilities to nurture the inborn potential of every child.
