Children’s Day was observed at the JSS Educational Institution premises in Suttur today. Prof. Sharanappa V. Halase, Chancellor, KSOU, Prof. Shashikala Subanna, Prof. (Retd.), Mysuru and Heads of various departments of the school are seen in the picture.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Suttur, Nov. 14, 2025:<\/strong> JSS Educational Institution, Suttur, celebrated Children\u2019s Day with enthusiasm and devotion, highlighting the role of education, values, and hard work in shaping responsible future citizens.<\/p>\n

Prof. Sharanappa V. Halase, Chancellor, Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Mukta Gangotri, Mysuru, participated as the chief guest. In his address, he said, \u201cToday\u2019s children are tomorrow\u2019s citizens.\u201d Referring to this, he recalled how His Holiness Jagadguru Rajendra Mahaswamiji has taken up the noble mission of providing quality education to students along with Trivida Dasoha (Food, Education and Healthcare). He emphasised that this intention will be fulfilled only when students understand its value, make good use of the opportunity given to them, and move ahead with a clear aim in life.<\/p>\n

Citing the inspiring example of the present President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, who hails from a tribal community, Prof. Halase said that students and teachers can find \u2018Kailasa\u2019 (heaven) when they adapt Basavanna\u2019s principle of Kayakave Kailasa. He added that Kalike (learning) is not a one-day journey and that students must consider learning as a continuous, everyday process. He urged students to respect their teachers and elders, stressing that honest efforts will always yield positive results. \u201cEveryone should adapt good thoughts,\u201d he observed.<\/p>\n

In her address, Prof. Shashikala Subbanna, Professor (Retd.), Mysuru, explained the life history of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. She reminded the students that laziness can spoil their lives and encouraged them to develop the habit of working hard. She urged them to inculcate good behaviour and a helping nature, to assess themselves honestly, and move forward with determination. She emphasised that society will change for the better when every girl becomes well-educated and called upon all students to develop strong self-confidence.<\/p>\n

Dr. Mahadesh, Senate Member, Mangaluru University, was also present on the occasion. Prizes were distributed to the winners of various sports and other competitions conducted as part of the Children\u2019s Day celebrations. Students presented a vibrant cultural programme, adding colour and joy to the event.<\/p>\n

Heads of various departments of the school, Shri G.L. Tripurantaka, Shri Veerabhadraiah, Dr. H.M. Mahesh, Shri M. Rajashekaramurthy, Shri G. Shivamallu, Shri M.G. Basavanna, Shri G.M. Shadakshari, Shri G. Shivaswamy, Shri Mahadevaprasad and Smt. Susheela were present.<\/p>\n

The programme commenced with an invocation by the school students. Shri Andaiah Shirurumath extended a warm welcome to the gathering, Smt. D.P. Nagalambika proposed the vote of thanks, and Shri S. Chandramouleshwara efficiently conducted the proceedings as the master of ceremonies.<\/p>\n
