Suttur, November 14, 2024: JSS Residential School in Suttur marked Children’s Day with an inspiring program under the auspices of JSS Educational Institutions. The event aimed to celebrate young minds and motivate students toward a brighter future in science and technology.
Dr. K. Jayaprakash, Retired Chief Public Relations Officer of the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Government of India, New Delhi, attended as the chief guest. In his address, Dr. Jayaprakash praised the accomplishments of India’s youth in securing prestigious international positions. However, he emphasized that the country risks lagging in science and technology as talented individuals seek opportunities abroad. “Today’s youth should explore areas beyond medicine and engineering,” he said, urging students to consider careers in diverse fields of science and research. “Opportunities in sectors like ISRO, defense, and research await you. Aim to build a stronger, more powerful nation through innovation, new discoveries, and inventions. If we retain our talent, we can indeed build a strong nation,” he observed. He encouraged students to foster a love for education, pursue careers within India, and develop a strong sense of patriotism.
The program was presided over by Sri S. Shivaswamy, Principal of JSS D.El.Ed. College, who shared his perspective that students are like flower buds, ready to bloom when nurtured with care. “With the right education, children can have a bright future. It is also their responsibility to understand and follow our religion, culture, and traditions and to protect them,” he added.
Prizes were awarded to winners of various sports competitions held as part of the Children’s Day celebrations. After the formal program, teachers entertained the students with enjoyable activities.
The event saw the presence of department heads, including Sri G.L. Tripurantaka, Sri Veerabhadraiah, Dr. H.M. Mahesh, Sri G. Shivamallu, Sri M.G. Basavanna, Sri G.M. Shadakshari, Sri G.
